Rita Popp Obituary
Rita was born in Elgin on June 4, 1950, the daughter of the late Norman and Ruth (nee Stone) Olson. On March 21, 1970, she married Michael A. Popp. Rita was a lifelong resident of the Dundee and Crystal Lake areas. She was a 1968 graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School and an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Crystal Lake.
Rita was also a former longtime employee of the Elgin Foot & Ankle Clinic.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Michael A.; and their three sons, Michael, Aaron (Patricia) and Carsten (Megan). Other survivors include her grandchildren, Mason and Ally; her brother, Neil (Evy) Olson; her sister-in-law, Artise (Steve) Komarchuk; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randy; and her sister, Nona.
The memorial funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 485 W. Woodstock St. in Crystal Lake. The Rev. Greg Lucas, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be private.
Rita's family will be receiving friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, until the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either St. Paul's United Church of Christ or the charity of ones choice.

I am so sorry for your loss of your loving wife, friend and mother. I, like so many that knew Rita, were shocked by her passing, as I had no idea she had medical issues. My prayers are with all of you, but rest assured, she is with our Lord and may you find some peace and comfort in his loving care.

I am very sorry for your loss. I was friends with Rita when we were in grade school, junior high and part of high school. We had a lot of good times and went down different paths but thought about her often and wished we had reconnected. My prayers are with you and your family.

Mike & family,
I can't believe she is gone. Rita was my longest & dearest friend in the whole world. I feel very proud to have been one of her friends. She was the nicest, kindest person I have ever met. We were friends for over 40 years & I feel like I have lost a part of my family I loved her so much. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
