Zygmunt Swidkiewicz Obituary
Zygmunt "Ziggy" Swidkiewicz, age 64 of Gary, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011, after battling a heart condition for over 12 years. He is remembered by special friends: Janina Wojcik of Merrillville, and Edward and Richard (Eulalia) Pasko, both of Crown Point. He was preceded in death by his parents: Andrzej and Michalina. Zygmunt was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and attended mass at the Salvatorian Shrine. He was a member of PNA Lodge #2431 and PRCUA Lodge #337. Ziggy was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School and had worked at the Budd Automotive Company and Inland Steel. He served our country during the Vietnam War. Ziggy was the best son a mother could ask for, taking care of his mother at home for several years. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Silver Bell Club, PNA Lodge #2365 service at 3:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Czestochowa Salvatorian Shrine, 5755 Pennsylvania St., Merrillville with Rev. Walter Pawlik officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Rest in Peace Ziggy. I went to St. Hedwig's with you and later to Lew Wallace. I'll always remember our altar boy days. You'll be missed!
