KATHLEEN R. KEMP HOBART, IN Kathleen R. Kemp, age 91 of Hobart, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2009. She is survived by five children: Robert (Cynthia) Mundell of Valparaiso, Marcia Snyder of Houston, TX, William (Jolene) Mundell of Valparaiso, Susan (Robert) Simpson of Merrillville and Melissa (Kenneth) Dike of Acworth, GA and Golden, CO; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, John (Shirley) Walter of Hallsville, TX; one sister, Mary (Thomas) Hockman of Detroit Lakes, MN; and many dear nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Harmon A. Kemp; parents: James and Kathryn Walter; two brothers: Thomas and Charles Walter; one sister, Helen Pillman; one son-in-law, Jeffrey Wilkie; one granddaughter, Kelly Nicole Wilkie; and one dear niece, Karen Kirchner. Prayers will be said on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 9:30 AM at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Church, 200 E. 78th Ave., Merrillville. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN. Wake service Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Kathleen was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church, the Ladies Guild ARC Group and Sigma Alpha Gamma since 1936. She was a 1936 graduate of Hobart High School and also graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business College in Chicago.
