Jere T. Zapf South Bend/Michigan City Jere T. Zapf, 58, of South Bend and Michigan City, passed away Monday, September 6, 2004. Beloved father of Natalie 17, Leslie 12, and Robert 10. Loving brother of Ann Getchell. Jere was born to Lillian Hagarty and (the late) Robert T. on October 3, 1946. Jere was a Vietnam Veteran, a Purdue University student, and a Boilermaker of Local 374. He worked at the steel mills for 35 years. He was also a loving and proud father of his three children. He loved to take them out to dinner at the Fortune House Restaurant. His favorite thing to do was go to auctions. A memorial service will be held at the Disabled American Veterans building, 2301 Ohio St., Michigan, City, IN, on Saturday, September 18, 2004 from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. Cremation Society of Illinois handling arrangements.
