Joseph Balling Obituary

JOSEPH A. BALLING CROWN POINT, IN Joseph A. Balling, age 73 of Crown Point, IN passed away on Monday, January 7, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Betty; one son, Joseph (Kris) Balling of Fr. Meyers, FL; two grandsons: Joseph Balling of Little Rock, Arkansas and Cody Balling of Ft. Luaderdale, FL; two granddaughters: Katherine and Amy Balling of Ft. Meyers, FL; four sisters: Joan O'Brien, Mary (Roy) Hale, Carol Balling and Betty Hepp; sister-in-law, Grace Tampa, brother-in-law, Joseph (Candace) Schmitz; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Irene Balling, brother Robert Balling and sister, Susan Polchow. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2008 DIRECTLY at Holy Name Church in Cedar Lake with Ft. Ed Tlucek officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Cedar Lake. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, January 10, 2008 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Ave. (corner of 41 and 129th Ave) Cedar Lake, IN. Joe was a retired driver for E & L Transport, Chicago Teamsters Local 710 with 36 years of loyal service. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League in Shelby, also a member of National Rifle Assoc. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ark c/o Holy Name Parish. Joe will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends. Further information call, 219-374-5518
