Samuel Biter Obituary
Samuel James Biter, age 23, formerly of Hobart, passed away October 22, 2011. Sam was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 2006, where he played football and wrestled. He served our country for four years as a Navy Corpsman (medic). Sam cared for his marines during two deployments in Afghanistan, Iraq and Haiti. After his discharge from the service, he attended Cleveland State in TN where he was pursuing a nursing degree. Sam was known for his huge heart, his infectious smile and his loyalty to his friends. He loved to laugh, live life boldly and touched the hearts of all who knew him. Sam loved the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and hanging out with family and friends at the lake. He was so loved by many. We will miss Sam and remember all he gave us. Rest in peace our precious Sam. Sam is survived by his parents: Timothy and Freddie Biter of Valparaiso; maternal grandparents: James Fred and Barsha Bright of Athens, TN; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. to Sam's family
I got to work with Sam at Lejeune in the TBI clinic where I worked as a PA. He was a great help to me as a corpsman-he stayed late many a time so I wouldn't be alone after hours. He was a sweet young man that you should always be proud of. My deepest condolences to his family. I will always remember his smile.

I just found out today and it breaks my heart. HN Biter was a great corpsman and a good man. He will be missed by those that worked with him at the TBI Clinic. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, as this is a difficult time. God Bless. HM1

I'm very Sorry to hear about biter. He was my boot when we were with the marines and the only boot worth anything. A great friend that looked out for me and mine countless times. I. Was hoping to see him again but I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer until I reach him at the golden gates. He will be missed and our deep apologies for the familys loss.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about this! I grew up with Sam and went to school with him since middle school. I'm in total disbelief and really at a loss for words. I will keep you both in my thoughts. I hope you both can take comfort in all of the support your community has for you during this time

So VERY VERY sorry... I did not have the pleasure of meeting Sam but I heard SO much about him. My son is also a Corpsman and served with the 3/2. Sam was a GREAT Corpsman and a very special man loved by MANY. I pray for peace for Sams family and friends. Another Hero has gone home.

Sam, I'm honestly at a loss for words. you were what got me through a lot of bumps in the road and I feel so lost without you. Bryan and I love you like family.
