Shirley Margaret Sarnowski

SHIRLEY MARGARET SARNOWSKI PENTWATER Shirley Margaret Sarnowski, age 88, of Pentwater and formerly of Roseland, Dolton and Lynwood, IL passed away on Sunday January 12, 2014 at home. She was born on July 6, 1925 in Chicago, IL daughter of Randolph and Gladys (Tapp) Jeanes. Shirley married Harry Sarnowski on May 11, 1946 in Chicago, IL at Immaculate Conception Church. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1993. Shirley worked as a personnel manager at Kmart in Dolton, IL for 20+ years, and retired on July 1, 1990. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, walking and spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by her two sons: Terry (Karyl) Sarnowski of Lynwood, IL and Dale R. (Cyndi) Sarnowski of Pentwater, MI; grandchildren: Karen (Wes) Tiller, Todd (Leticia) Sarnowski, Tara (Will) Bowman, Dale J. (Halley) Sarnowski, Randy (Mallory) Sarnowski and Samantha Sarnowski; great grandchildren: Sarah and Michael Tiller, Natalia and Marco Sarnowski and Michelle and Ashley Bowman; three sisters: Winnie Lorenz of Calumet City, IL, Mariann (Jim) Chidichimo of Wheatfield, IN and Beverly Belford of Lowell, IN; and brother, Rich (Joyce) Jeanes of Brooksville, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; brothers: Ray, Myron and Kenny Jeanes. Cremation has taken place and a funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Weare (Hart) on Saturday January 18, 2014 with Father Phillip Sliwinski celebrant. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00AM until time of funeral Mass. Final interment will take place at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. Memorial contributions in memory of Shirley may be directed to Harbor Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
