PHILLIP E. FRANCIS DEMOTTE, IN Phillip E. Francis, 80, of DeMotte, IN, born February 21, 1936 in Gary, IN, at rest November 12, 2016, Crown Point, IN. Graduate of Hobart High School. Veteran of the U.S. Airforce. Survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Carol Francis. Sister Vanessa (James) Carter of Valparaiso, IN. Daughters Elizabeth (Francis) Huffman of Indianapolis, Gail (Francis) Scherquist (Chuck) of Downers Grove, IL. Grandchildren Jacob Pavelka, Kelly and Allison Scherquist. Stepchildren Julie (Jeff) Hicks, Lance (Dr. Tracy) Jenkins and Laura Ignas. Step-grandchildren, Abbey Hicks; Brina, Zane and Max Jenkins; Tom, Tim, Krystle and Lauren Ignas. Phil was a great storyteller, avid reader, lover of chocolate, fluent in many languages and an overall man of mystery. He was never late for anything. He will be greatly missed. Visitation 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. November 25, 2016 at Trinity Presbyterian Church (housed within Covenant Christian High School), 611 15th Street, SW DeMotte, IN 46310. Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon. Immediately following. Memorial donations may be made to Carol Francis.
