Bob and I worked together in Engineering at NIPSCO in the early to mid 1970's. In fact, our desks were right next to each other. He was a great co-worker, with an excellent sense of humor. I saw Bob shortly after his return from the Middle East, and learned of the critical role he played in our engagement there. We have lost a wonderful American and great friend.

One of my favorite memories of my dad was on our second genealogy trips. We spent a lot of time going from cemetery to cemetery looking for our ancestors. I usually found our ancestors before Dad did. But this one time, he found the oldest Swisher we knew about, and he rubbed my face in it! Then he thanked me for finding the cemetery that we searched. The picture shown is Dad by that headstone.

Bob was my transition instructor in the Cessna 182 in Civil Air Patrol over 10 years ago and we have stayed in contact ever since. I have always appreciated his calm, collected demeanor and I have always admired him greatly. Bob was a great friend, a mentor and a trusted adviser. He will be missed, but his voice will always be with me as he reminds me (and therefore me to remind others) to protect the nose gear of that 182 on touchdown. Fly high, Bob! Nick Davidson
