John A. Murray

MURRAY--John A., passed away on March 5, 2009 at Sound Shore Medical Center. He was 85 years old. Mr. Murray was born on May 5, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio to William and Anna Ahearn Murray. John was an attorney working for the Corporation Council City of New York for three years and then the New York City Transit Authority for thirty three years for their Assistant Council Appeals Division. John was a member of the Scarsdale Volunteer Fire Department Company #3 for 26 years. He is survived by his wife of fifty two years Mary McLaughlin Murray, also surviving are his daughter Julie Berberian (Aram) and his son William J. (Vanessa) Murray and grandchildren Katharine and Caroline Berberian. His loyal dog Scully survives as well as several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Samuel J. Murray. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lupus Foundation of America, 200 L Street, N.W., Suite 710, Washington D.C., 20036 preferred. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 11am, St. Pius X Church, Scarsdale.
