GEORGIA CLARK Obituary

CLARK--Georgia Welch, 81, passed away peacefully in her home on July 3. Georgia was born in Corpus Christi, TX. She attended Mills College and received her BA Degree from the University of Texas and MA in Political Science from the University of Chicago. Georgia is survived by her husband of 61 years, former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark; her daughter Ronda; her son Tom Clark II, U.S. Department of Justice; granddaughters Whitney, Taylor, and Paige Clark; and her brother Michael Welch of Oceanside, CA. Her beauty, wisdom and limitless love inspired all who knew her. Her steadfast support and love - filled labors for her daughter Ronda, who was born incapable of caring for herself, and for her husband Ramsey, in pursuit of his ideals, made the lives they have lived possible.

To Mr Clark and family: I am so very profoundly sorry to hear and read of the passing away of Mrs Clark. She was a wonderful woman who was indeed a big source of power for Mr Clark. Their love and mutual respect for each other was evident during the little time that I was privileged enough to spend with them during their time in Geneva last year. My condolences are with Mr Clark, his children and the whole family as they grieve the loss of a wife and a mother.

Our most heartfelt condolences to the Clark family.

Georgia was always such a joy to speak with and it was even more enjoyable to meet her in person as she portrayed a very special commitment to making the world a better place to live that was an inspiration.

Georgia's committed and loving care for her family, particularly her lovely daughter Ronda, was touching. She was surely such a strength for her courageous family.

Georgia's grandchildren, and many children that met her, even if only briefly, will always carry the memory of an intelligent, loving and caring woman who strove to make the world a better place to live.

Ramsey and Family,

My heart, filled with prayers, goes to you! I remember meeting Georgia a number of times during our campaign, which Ramsey gave his heart and soul to, to help political prisoners in the infamous h-blocks in the north of Ireland. She was always gracious and supportive, always charming and intelligent, always as smooth as silk and glowing with affection.
May Our Lord greet her at the great gate and may His heart enfold her there and all who love her here!
