My sincere condolences to the whole family. I am just a fan of Joe's work and not a personal friend, but I had the great fortune of meeting him when he joined us at a Pittsburgh convention in 2009. He was a remarkable gentleman filled with good humor and his work is admired by so many.
There are videos on YouTube of Joe in Pittsburgh and his enthusiasm (if not outright joy) is very evident.
Rest in peace, Joe. We'll miss you.

hello Merrie & Joelle; I rememeber you dad, AND mom dearly, back when Amagansett was still unknown, and we could run barefoot the whole summer long....My deepest sympathies, he was an awesome guy... ran into him a few times many years later, always a gentleman....
