I never go out to morning coffee without remembering Rose´s insistence that we do that when I came to town. It still is the most urbane and sophisticated thing I do,

There is little to add to all the love and tributes that have already been offered to our dear Rose. We feel so sad that we were in NY when she passed away and missed the chance to see the family then. We loved Rose and Dan so much...we met them so many years ago at Grossinger's just as they were moving to NYC from Brooklyn...I remember bringing them a challah and a box of salt to their "new" apartment on the Upper East Side. That was so long ago, and we feel so blessed we remained good friends for decades! We never visited NY without seeing the Shaum's, and whether it was dinner at El Greco's or an evening at one of our son's current performances, we shared wonderful times with them both. Rose continued to be a grand 'coffee date' up to our last visit to NY and we shall always be so grateful she was a beloved guest at Spencer's wedding too.
I could go on and on...she just was a grand and lovely and gracious and marvelous lady. We are so grateful we knew her and stayed good friends for just ever. May her memories and the love we all felt for her comfort you all - she was truly a Woman of Valor and a dear dear friend.
