Stephen Riddleberger Obituary

1920 - 2014
STEPHEN CUDDY RIDDLEBERGER, 93, beloved husband of Cornelia ("Connie)" Bartz Riddleberger, died on August 9, 2014 at Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ.

Stephen was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1920 and spent his boyhood years in Ridgewood, NJ and Washington Heights, Manhattan. He graduated from George Washington H.S. (NYC) and attended Columbia University. Starting as a page at NBC's Radio City headquarters, Stephen went on to a long career mainly in broadcasting, including VP-Administration at ABC Radio, President of ABC Radio Stations, and VP-General Manager of ABC News. At NBC he held the positions of VP of the Radio Stations, and VP of TV Talent & Program Administration. He was also Controller and VP of Franchising with the Hertz Corporation.
Stephen was a warden of St. Bartholomew's Church, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ; Chairman of the Outreach Commission of Christ Church, Ridgewood, NJ; and a member of the Boy Scout Troop 54 Committee. At Heath Village, where he lived since 2003, he was a member of the Residents' Council, and Board Member of the Friendship (child care) Center.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his son, Thomas Riddleberger, his daughter, Alice Butler, and four grandchildren: Molly Butler, Sarah Butler Koestler, Jonathan Riddleberger and Michael Riddleberger.

A memorial service will be held on October 11, 2:00 PM, at Heath Village. For more information write to [email protected] .
