One of my favorite experiences was working with Brayton, Len Kingsley, and Peter Pastreich on the planning effort that led to the idea of the San Francisco Symphony becoming "a great symphony, recognized as world class." The effort started in 1978 with Brayton's leadership. Without doubt, our Symphony is now there.
Judy Wilbur, Brayton, Judy Waterman, and I have been friends since Stanford Business School. We will miss him greatly.

It was an absolute pleasure to arrange journeys for Brayton. He had a marvelous sense of humor, was interested in everything, fun to work with and extremely generous. He will be sorely missed.
