Harvey S. Kronfeld, 86, attorney, of Haverford PA and Naples FL died on February 14, 2016 in Philadelphia. He was husband of 61 years of Janet (nee Lubowitz), father of Linda, Andrew and Julia Kronfeld, grandfather of Lily and Claudia Kronfeld and Natalie and Samantha Gay, brother of Adele Cohen and Gerald Kronfeld, and son of Samuel and Lena Kronfeld. He was a graduate of University of Delaware, class of 1949 and Harvard Law School, class of 1952. After beginning his career in Philadelphia at the law firm Wolf Block, he joined the office of general counsel at Ford Motor Company and then returned to private practice in Philadelphia with a specialty in antitrust and class action litigation. In 1987 a spinal cord injury brought him to Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. With Janet's help he resumed a full life, notwithstanding a pivot from tennis to golf. He served on the Magee Hospital Board of Trustees for over 20 years, on the Magee Foundation Board since it began in 1998, and chaired the Hospital's oversight committee. He was recognized in 2010 with the Magee Humanitarian Award for his dedication to helping others, the example he set, and support of individuals with disabilities. He was also on the Board of the American Jewish Committee where he led an initiative to improve Jewish representation in executive ranks of large corporations. Harvey and Janet were devoted to each other and respected their complementary strengths. They built a rich life together with a close group of friends that has been together consistently for over six decades.
