Joseph Pochiba Obituary

Joseph Pochiba, 83, of Washington, formerly of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in Washington Hospital's emergency room.
He was born December 21, 1931, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Andrew and Anna Kotvas Pochiba.
For many years, Mr. Pochiba was owner of Trio Lounge & Restaurant, Washington.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Pochiba's wife, Dorothy Ann Karahuta, died December 3, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald (Roberta) Pochiba of Canonsburg and Kevin (Carol) Pochiba of Claysville; a daughter, Janice (Barry) Hepinger of Washington; a brother, John (Donna) Pochiba of Canonsburg; a sister, Evelyn Gulla of Canonsburg; six grandchildren, Adam Pochiba, Nicholas Pochiba, Zachary Pochiba, Christopher Hepinger, Ryan Hepinger (fiancée Brittany Dulaney) and Erin (Scott) Merydith; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Hepinger, Mikayla Pochiba, Sydney Merydith and Abbigail Dulaney; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are a son, Andrew Pochiba; two brothers, Andrew and Frank Pochiba; and six sisters, Helen Sluciakm, Mary Kowalski, Anna Wudkwych, Frances Sroka, Katherine Kissell and Julia Brezinski.
Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of a blessing service, Friday, March 13, in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, with Father Thomas Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg, and the U.S. Army.

To a friend of mine for many years. Glad I got to know you---always enjoyed stopping in the bar & talking whenever I got in town. to the family, so sorry for your loss, Joe was a hard man to get to know. God bless the family
