Louis Martin Obituary
Silver Springs - Louis S. Martin Jr., of Silver Springs, passed away early Sunday, May 29, 2011, in the comfort of his home. He was born and raised in Miami and graduated from Miami Edison in 1951. He joined the US Coast Guard in 1952 and served for 4 years. He retired from Southern Bell in 1986 after 35 years of employment. He then relocated to the Ocala National Forest in October, 1987. He loved helping the elderly by delivering meals for Marion County Senior Services for 16 years. He was a member of F.O.E Aerie 4216 where he held several officer positions. He also was a member of the American Legion, Friendship Masonic Lodge and the Forest Moose Lodge 2535. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Carol Martin, daughters Anita Cline (Larry), Annette Rallo (Anthony) and Michelle Kellogg (Tim), 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother James ("Pete") Martin (Barbara). Lou now joins his first wife, Anita J. Martin and his son Louis ("Al") Martin. As his wishes, Lou will be cremated and laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell and a memorial will be held at a later date with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marion County Senior Services, 1101 SW 20th Court, Ocala, FL 34474. Arrangements under the direction of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala.

Hi Aunt Carol, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Lou. He was such a great person from the memories I have of him.
