Carroll Shaw Obituary

Carroll R. Shaw, Sr., 79, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Meadowview Care Center in Seville.

Carroll was born April 22, 1931 in Medina to Ralph and Marjorie (nee Alber) Shaw. He grew up in Granger, on the family farm. In addition to farming he hauled fuel and aviation oil. Carroll was also part owner of Doughboy Donuts in Medina and Akron. He later operated his own antique shop in Creston. He then retired at age 72 from Lang Excavating. He loved being a dairy farmer and Oliver Tractors. Carroll served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Remsen Christian Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Edith (nee Kale) to whom he was married 12 years; loving children, Carroll R. (Tammy) Shaw, Jr., Ramona (Raymond) Mohn, Debbie Shaw, Ralph (Yvonne) Shaw, Craig (Dooley) Shaw, Sr., Luann (John) Winland, David (Chris) Shaw, Dale (Carolyn) Shaw, Carol Sue Maher and Diane (Steve) Wingenfeld; step-son, Steven (Nicole) Lemermeier; devoted grandfather of 22; great-grandfather of 32; dear brother of Gerald (Iona) Shaw and Beverly Nelson. He is also survived by one niece and two nephews.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St., Rev. John Bartos will officiate. Burial with honors will take place at the Reid Hill Cemetery in Granger Twp. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association Online condolences may be left at www.waitefuneralhome.com

To the Shaw Family.Many fond memories arose thinking of "The Farm"bicycling fishing,basketball and all day events with are two large families of more then nine.
