Ryan Simko Obituary
He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and nephew, and leaves many family members to mourn his passing: parents, John Sr. and Georgia (Acquaviva); daughter, Jewelyanna; brother, John, Jr. (and Jody); sister, Monica (and Buff) Yanik; nephews, Nick, Justin, and Vinny; niece, Sydney; aunts and uncles, Maude and Butch Utterback, Bill and Virginia Adams, Billy and Cathy Acquaviva, Frank and Carolyn Simko, Dominic and Kris Simko, and Barbara Mayer; many great aunts, great uncles, and cousins; special lady friend, Donna, and special friend, Dave; and a special thanks to all his co-workers at Anthony Allega Concrete. Ryan will forever be in our hearts.
Calling hours will be TODAY from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.), where Fr. Edward Burba will officiate at funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

It’s hard to believe that you’ve been gone 10 years. I ask that you watch over Aunt Georgia and silently wipe her tears. Because she misses you more than anyone here knows. Just tip toe in and gently wrapped your arms around her and let her see your glow. Then once again she will smile big when she feels your love sinking in.

Oh Johnny and Monica, my heart bleeds so much for yall. There is nothing anyone could possibly say to ease the pain of losing someone you love so much, far too soon. I know, as I just went through it less than two months ago. I remember Ryan running around your yard playin with us when we were kids...I wish to God I could ease some of your pain. Know that I love you all dearly and will pray daily until you see him again...I am so so terribly sorry.

ryan was my cousin. a cousin i use to babyset when he was little. i would take him to mcdonals and he would get not 1 but 2 big macs. he was only 3 or 4. ryan will always be in my thoughts and heart.

I met Ryan in the mid 90's working together at the harbor inn. He was the door guy/bar back and I was the dj. Years later we battled each other on the poker table. I feel privileged to know him. He had a sense of humor that could make you smile and laugh for days.. To his family, know that he was adored by many. May God bless you in these tough times.

I believe there's usually a reason for everything that happens in our lifes, and today I am at a loss for any reason. Mr. and Mrs. Simko, Jewelyanna, John Jr and Monica, words cannot express how terribly saddened I am about Ryan. For many years he was like a big brother to me. I could call on him and he was there. Our friendship had many ups and many downs and I cannot imagine what my life would have been like if I had never met him. His hugs were like an angel coming to carry all of your troubles away.
