Robert Entenman Obituary
Robert John Entenman Jr., Banker, age 57, died May 28th, 2015 in London of complications from surgery.
Born March 1, 1958, Rob is the son of Robert J. Entenman Sr. of Hudson, Ohio and Sue Entenman of Naples, Fla. Rob grew up in Hudson, is a 1976 graduate of Hudson High School, attended the London School of Economics and is a 1980 graduate of Cornell University, earning a degree in Economics.
Rob was Global Head of eCommerce at Uni-Credit Bank in London. He had a 35-year career in financial services and banking, starting in New York as a consultant specializing in econometric and financial modeling. After moving to London in 1982, he worked for major investment banks in Britain, France and Italy.
Rob's passions were many. From sailing and golf to wine and whiskey, from politics and economics to motorcycling and scuba diving, Rob was enthusiastic, full of energy and with a zest for life. Known as Captain Bob to many, he earned his Master Mariner's Certificate and was a very accomplished and passionate sailor with an intense love of the sea. Whether sailing in the English Channel, the Mediterranean, Caribbean or across the Pacific in a catamaran, Rob was in his element captaining or crewing a sailing vessel.
Rob was known for his adventuresome and infectious spirit, love for the outdoors, quick wit and legendary-knowledge, from philosophy to bio-tech, from financial markets to food. He had a reputation for honesty, integrity, immense loyalty and friendship, and was regarded by colleagues as a valuable mentor, always having sound, objective advice and wise counsel, treating everyone around him, regardless of rank or reputation, with decency and kindness.
Rob is survived by his wife, Athina; children, Alexander and Chloe in London; sister, Holly Kennedy and husband Hal of Rye, New York; brother, Fred Entenman and wife Molly of Chicago, Ill.; father, Robert J. Entenman Sr. of Hudson and mother, Sue Entenman of Naples, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Aphrodite and Vassilis Sakkis of Athens, Greece; mother and father-in-law, Chrysa Kyriakidou and Yannis Kyriakidis in Thessaloniki, Greece; and nine nieces and nephews.

I have just learned of Robert's sad passing. I don't need to tell you what a wonderful human being he was Athina. We are all devastated for you and the kids but thank goodness his intelligence and kindness will live on in them. Robert and I had a lot of fun together and he was a true friend. Sending prayers. Xxx

We sailed together with the Contessa fleet. Larger than life, louder than most, how he made me laugh! Just learned of his passing, my thoughts and prayers for his family and many friends.

Bob and I go back over 30 years to those early days in London.. a dear friend and always a partner in search of the perfect pint in the perfect pub.We kept in touch regularly over the years and his wisdom, sense of humor and companionship will be sorely missed. As he may have summed it up himself... a downright decent chap!

Bob and I worked together at 2 different firms for years, "way back when." He was my boss and I was his boss. We were friends, drinking buddies, and we talked about life. We last Bloomberg chatted a few months back...and he said that he was having some stuff done....but did/would not get into any details.
I am so very sad to hear that the world has lost Big Bob.
My best goes out to all who knew him and now miss him.

I haven't seen Rob since he was 22, a senior in college preparing to go out into the world. But even then the stamp was perfectly clear: a man in full, eager to pursue all the experience that life had to offer, and with rare energy and enthusiasm. An astute student of the world with a gift for turning that study into brilliant conversation. I'm sure all who knew him will feel his absence.
