Owen Sutter Obituary

Feb 13, 1937 - Jan 1, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Owen Charles Sutter was born February 13, 1937 in Wichita, KS to Lawrence and Naomi Sutter and died January 1, 2012 after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carol Craiger. He is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Craig; daughter-in-law, Sandee; granddaughter, Sarah; sister, Rita Walker; brothers-in-law, Don Walker and John Craiger; and nieces and nephews. Owen graduated from East High in Wichita and earned a degree in Agriculture at Kansas State University. After spending some time at the family ranch at Fargo, OK, he worked for Morton Salt Co. for 22 years as an agriculture division account manager. His continuing passion for the land was evidenced in his work on the family ranch and his pleasure in sharing it with his family and friends. Owen enjoyed spending time with people he loved, traveling with his wife Susan, working with wood, training his bird dogs and all things Kansas State. He served Christ by serving others through mission work locally and internationally as a member of the United Methodist Church of the Servant. He contributed his many talents of organization and carpentry to construction and renovation of churches, homes and other community projects. One mission left incomplete in Owen's heart was the building of the Methodist Church in Perechyn, Ukraine. In lieu flowers, please consider a contribution to The Church of the Servant/Ukraine Mission, 14343 N. MacArthur, OKC, OK 73142. Please join us for a celebration of his life on January 5, 3 p.m., at The United Methodist Church of the Servant.
