Sincerest condolences to Sally, Rachel, and Becca. It never was my privilege to meet Bob, but I know we'd have had a great deal in common and that I would have liked and respected him. Your cousin, Wes Duran (Major, USAF Ret.)

Oh, my goodness... I was just online trying to find Bob and Sally to
check about having a link to the Sooner Golden Retriever Rescue on my new training class website, and I found this obituary on Bob! Needless to say, I'm shocked and very saddened. Bob and Sally had a sheltie pup from me years back, and I've always respected and admired their dedication to dogs in general. My deepest sympathy to
his family and close friends for this terrible loss.

I went to Culver City High School with Bob, we both graduated in 1964. He played baseball, I ran track. He was an all around great guy and very talented. Always hoped we'd hook up again.

I had the pleasure of knowing Bob when we flew with the 552 AWACS together and he was always one of the greatest. His loss saddens me deeply but I am comforted only when I think of what General Patton once said, "Weep not for those who have died but thank God that such men lived." I am so thankful to have had Bob in my life and wish you all only wonderful memories of this wonderful guy. May peace & love fill your hearts. Russell Hulbert, Capt., USAF-Retired

I am so sorry to hear about Robert Bornstein's death. He was a wonderful man and did so much for Golden Retrievers. I never met him in person but I have gotten so many Goldens from SGGR and they have added so much to my life. The first Golden I got was right after my husband died in 1992,Oscar, and he was such a comfort to me. t would not have been possible with out the work of Robert, Sally and SGGR!
Robert and Sally and all the work they have done.

God Bless Bob. He was invaluable to the OKC Animal Welfare Division as he and his volunteers saved hundreds of Golden Retrievers over the years. His outreach included saving shelter dogs, puppy mill victims, and pets from dog auctions. He touched the lives of so many people and pets that he can never be replaced. We are deeply saddened by his passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and to the wonderful volunteers and fosters with Sooner Golden Retriever Rescue. We will never forget Bob.

As one of Bob's professional friends from the Top Echelon Network, he unquestionably sought to do his best, and was always armed with a keen sense of integrity. He was a man well-rooted in his principles and devoted to his family. What a legacy!

I only met Bob through our shared love of Goldens, and never met him personally. But he was a savior to many Puppy Mill survivours. He helped spearhead and fund the rescues of many deserving Goldens from horrendous circumstances. I will be making a donation to Sooner Golden Retriever Rescue to further Bob's dream.

A great loss to his family, his friends, and to the country. I knew him first at Culver City Junior High School in Los Angeles County, grew up at CCHS with him, and thereafter, doing folk music, playing Risk - just young men growing up in the 1960s. A kinder, more pleasant soul was never known.

What a wonderful friend! He spent his life helping others and volunteering. (So many Wednesday nights spent delivering pasta to Norman!) Bob was always ready to give me a smile and a kiss on the forehead to remind me I was cared for after the death of my husband. I will miss his kindness, humor, and conversations. To Sally and the girls, please know you were greatly loved!

My old friend of nearly 50 years -- we met long before the Air Force and Sally and his wonderful family came along. It is sad to bid him away. I will miss his good companionship from so long ago, and his music.

A good friend, a man who taught me alot-who loved the women in his life, his wife,Sally and his daughters-but who had such a soft spot for animals, especially goldens in need. He was an advocate to treat animals well, that we should give our best because we received their love. It was all about the dogs.
