Sulie Andres Obituary

Oct 9, 1915 - Feb 1, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Sulie Marye Hudson Andres, age 96, of Oklahoma City, died Wednesday, February 1 2012. She was born to Dunker and Lallah Hudson October 9, 1915, in Mart, Texas. At an early age, the family moved to Waco, Texas, where Sulie graduated from high school and Baylor University in 1936. She married Hoyt Thompkins Andres, a fellow Baylor graduate, in 1938. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1947, where Hoyt was associated with WKY Radio and later with WKY Television. Hoyt died in 1957. In recent years, the Hoyt T. Andres Family Endowed Scholarship for students at Baylor University was established in her honor and his memory. She is survived by her children: Charles Hoyt Andres (Susan), of Highlands, NC; David Cleveland Andres, of Oklahoma City; and Suzanne Andres Capo (Don), of Bastrop, Texas; and her daughter-in-law, Marsha Andres, of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Claire Andres McLean, of Fruit Cove, Florida; Hoyt Hudson Andres (Kate), of Golden, CO; Ashley Andres Mitchell (James), of Oklahoma City; Addison Andres (Tosha), of Oklahoma City; Nicholas Capo (Melody), of Longview, Texas; Abigail Capo, Amelia Capo, Esther Capo, Harmony Capo and Charlotte Capo, all of Bastrop, Texas. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Madison, Mallory and Maxwell McLean; Gram Mitchell; and Charles Hoyt Andres II. Visitation will be Friday, February 3, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Hahn-Cook/ Street and Draper Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, at 3 p.m. at Church of the Savior, 5600 NW 63rd Street. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Savior Foundation or The Urban Mission.
