Dear Family: Bucky was an institution in Athens! My first contact with Bucky was at Athens Federal playing for them. Bucky always made the youngsters feel important. Athens Federal made us all feel special by opening a savings account with $5 in it to start us on a life of savings. It helped me to start early. Therefore, I learned and was able to retire at 50. This has given me the opportunity to give back to others in a multitude of ways. Bucky gave back to others throughout his long life. He will be sorely missed by Athens and the thousands that he touched by making the world a better place. I enjoyed seeing Bucky through the years even though I left Athens some 42 years ago after graduating from Georgia. I had heard about Bucky having Alzheimer's and I am currently doing a fund raiser for them in Camp Hill. You will be in my thoughts and prayers..

Bucky and his wife were so sweet to my little girls when their father took them down the street trick-or-treating soon after we moved to Athens in 1966.
He and Zippy Morocco were both so helpful to us in finding a home and a bank. All these years later his granddaughter and mine are good friends. My heart goes out to the whole family. RIP Bucky.

Bucky made me a loan when no one would and got me started. Never forgot that. A good guy in all respects. God Bless my friend.

I met Mr. Bucky while working for "another" bank. I, too, have fond memories of him. He was a joy and we laughed often, but he sure knew what he wanted. He truly will be missed. My sympathy to the family...

Deepest sympathy to the entire Redwine family. I will forever remember Bucky's wit and sage advice while we both served concurrent terms on the Clarke County Board of Education. He was one of a kind...and a great person!
Again, deepest condolences to the family.

I knew Bucky for about 50 years, and the expression "one of a kind" describes him better than anyone else I ever knew. He truly was unique. We had some good times together, and I will miss him.
