Callie Crumbley Obituary

Callie Ann Price Crumbley, 83, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away November 19, 2015 in Winterville GA, after suffering with Alzheimer's for a number of years. She was born in Hampton, GA to the late Samuel Hubert Price and Lois Turner Price. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Jim Bowen Crumbley. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Myrtle Price (Jacob) Lackey, Hubert Price and Wilbur (Glenda) Price. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who opened her arms and her home to her family and friends. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Price of McDonough; children: David (Laura) Crumbley of McDonough, Diane (David) Wallace of Winterville, Jeff (Teri) Crumbley of Hampton and Jim (Diane) Crumbley of Stockbridge; grandchildren: Jonathan (Kristina) Wallace, Jennifer (Mikey) Woodcock, Rachael (Chris) Nelson, Emily (Austin) Hart, Jake Wallace, Caitlin Crumbley, Jared Crumbley, Jim Crumbley, Caroline Wallace and Andrew Crumbley and twelve great grandchildren. Callie was the definition of a true southern woman. She never met a stranger, and always had a hug and a kiss for everyone. She loved to cook, and if you ever stopped by for a visit, you wouldn't leave hungry. Callie had a warm, caring spirit, and was playful and humorous. Most of all, she loved her family. A celebration of life service will be held at Inman United Methodist Church, Saturday, November 28 at 2 pm with visitation to follow with Reverend Royeese officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Ste 550, Atlanta, GA 30346 or Inman United Methodist Church, 151 Hillsbridge Rd, Fayetteville, GA 30215. I am so sorry to hear of Miss Callie's death and also, Mr. Jim, too. Most of you won't know who I am, but I am one of the many waitresses that had the pleasure of serving both of those special people. I will keep you all in my prayers!

Although I never had the honor of meeting Mrs. Callie in person, I felt like I knew her for a long time thru her daughter Diane. To me an earthly angel, now a heavenly angel. Fly high Mrs. Callie.

Both Callie and Jimbo are firmly etched in my childhood memories on Herald St. If memories are indeed treasures, I am richer today from memories they gave me! Love and hugs to all of you Crumbleys!
