Edgar Dewey Myers

Bishop - Edgar Dewey Myers, 69, of Bishop passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2007.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Myers was the son of the late Dewey Grant Myers and Cassie Florine Christy Myers, of Crawford. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Myers and a brother, J. W. Myers. Mr. Myers retired from the University of Georgia Housing Department after 30 years of service. He was a member and former deacon of the Memorial Baptist Church in Watkinsville; where he had worked with the Royal Ambassador Program for a number of years.
Survivors in addition to his mother are his wife, Virginia Nelms Myers, of Bishop; daughter, Kathy Bennett and husband, Steve, of Watkinsville; daughter, Angie McElroy and husband, Robin, of Bishop; son, Grant Myers and wife, Barbara, of Jefferson; brother, Leonard Myers, of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Erin Barber, Amanda McElroy, Trent McElroy, Ross Myers, Eli Bennett and Kacy Myers; and one great-grandchild, Taylor Dew.
Graveside services will be held at 10AM, Tuesday, June 26th, at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Mitch Elder officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8PM Monday, June 25th, at Bernstein Funeral Home.
