Michael Roddey Obituary
Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Pat Ellis and Connie Peay Roddey. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Clemson University and graduated with honors, Class of 1968. Mr. Roddey served as Vice President of Hayes Food Products. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Michael Ellis Roddey Jr. of Landrum; sister, Libby White of Columbia; three grandchildren, Bryce Michael Roddey, Ava Caroline Roddey and Katie Grace Roddey; one niece, Lisa Ellinger of Columbia; and one uncle, Bobby Clack of Oakridge, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Roddey.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, from 2 to 2:45 p.m. in The Gathering Space at Taylors First Baptist Church, with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Landrum.
Memorials may be made to Demps and Kristy Dempsey – Brazil Campus Outreach, 21 Glen Springs Road, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.

Mike you were a fine man who always conducted yourself with honor and integrity. You were highly respected within the industry and made friends wherever you went. Even though your legacy continues though Mike Jr. you can never be replaced. I feel honored to have known you and will miss you greatly. God speed my man.
