DAVID HOMEWOOD Obituary

Homewood, David, loving husband of 48 years, and dear friend of many, passed away September 1, 2010 at age 76. Dave was born November 14, 1933 in Vancouver, BC., son of Edward and Euphemia Homewood. He is survived by wife, Eleanor and family. Dave's career spanned 35 years where he was a loyal State Farm Insurance team member. Dave was a member of the Elks Lodge for 46 years and served as Exalted Ruler in Garden Grove in 1971-72 and Redding, CA in 1998-99. He was State Ritual Chairman of the Grand Lodge Ritual Committee for 3 years. He and his wife Eleanor lived in Garden Grove, CA for 28 years until his retirement in 1988, then moved to Redding, CA. They loved to travel, seeing several continents and spent 2 years traveling from Alaska to Key West in their motor home. A celebration of his life was held Tuesday, September 7th at the Elks Lodge in Redding, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Elks National Foundation or the California-Hawaii Elks Association Major Project fund.

Dave Homewood and I worked together at State Farm in the 1960's in Santa Ana. He was a wonderful leader, gave insightful meetings (the computer world was very new), and he was very, very well-liked. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
