EILEEN SCHERER Obituary

Scherer, Eileen Marie, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010, unexpectedly from a sudden heart attack. She was born on August 15, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Oscar and Etta Opgenorth. She attended Washington High School in Milwaukee, graduating in 1941. Upon graduation, she enlisted in the Air Force. While stationed in Tucson, she met Harold Scherer on a blind date to go horseback riding. After a "world wind", eight month courtship, they became engaged and married in Las Vegas, on November 16, 1946. They welcomed a daughter, Dorian Jeanne in 1953 and then their son, Stephen Joseph in 1958. Eileen entered the Lord's presence on December 26, 2010. She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Harold A. Scherer; daughter, Dorian (Russell) Bennett; son, Stephen (Alicia) Scherer; grandchildren, Laurel Bennett, Brooke, Reid, Ryan and Connor Scherer; and devoted companion "Sneakers". A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Evangelical Free Church, Fullerton. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary
