JEAN MARIE MOSS

Moss, Jean Marie 1926 - 2010 Jean Moss passed from this earth to eternal life on October 24 in Fountain Valley, California. She was born Jean Marie Moulden May 17, 1926 in Linton, Indiana and moved to Indianapolis at an early age. She spent her youth there graduating from St Agnes Academy. June 7, 1947 Jean married Bob Moss who had recently returned from his service in the Pacific as a Marine in WWII. They initially moved to West Lafayette, Indiana while Bob attended Purdue. Relocations to Denver and Leadville, Colorado, Silver Bell, Arizona and Downey, California followed as Bob's engineering career matured. They ultimately settled in Fountain Valley, California in June 1963 and remained residents there for the next 47 years. In addition to Bob, Jean is survived by her five children, Cathy Kravik of Fountain Valley, California, Bonnie Moss of Cambridge, Wisconsin, Sue Beaty of Coppell, Texas, John Moss of Irvine, California and Tom Moss of Ontario, California. She was also blessed with 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Jean was one of the original residents of Fountain Valley and was very active civically. She was one of the founders of the Fountain Valley Women's Club and served as its president several times. She served on the Parks and Recreation advisory board and was a member of the committee that raised funds and designed the "Fountain" for Fountain Valley. She was also a member of the Zonta Club of Newport Beach. Jean was named Citizen of the Year by the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce in 1986. She was a huge sports fan, following the Lakers and the Rams even after their departure to St Louis. Her greatest passion however, was baseball and the Angels. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 am on November 4th at the Sangha Center for Spiritual Living, 7641 Talbert Avenue, Huntington Beach, California, Those who want to honor Jean's memory can donate in her name to the Amanda Jean Beaty Memorial Scholarship at Texas Christian University, PO Box 297044, Ft Worth Texas 76129.
