Robert "Bob" Hermanson

1932 - 2015

Hermanson, Robert BobApril 9, 1932-November 23, 2015 Robert (Bob) Hermanson went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ unexpectedly on November 23, 2015. Bob was predeceased 2 months earlier by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lois. Bob was born in Chicago, Il, graduated from Michigan State University where he was a member of the Spartan Football Team and served in the Army as a 1st Lieutenant. Bob and Lois relocated to Plantation, Florida to raise their family. Bob loved sports especially football and his MSU Spartans. He was President of the Miami Dolphin Booster Club in the 1970's. Bob was a Mason and a member of the Korean War Veterans Chapter 192 in Beverly Hills. Bob volunteered at Citrus Memorial Hospital and was a familiar site on the local news station as a bailiff in the Citrus County Courthouse. Bob will be remembered as a loving husband and adored father and grandfather. His smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Bob is survived by daughter Nancy Ortenzo (Al) of Parkland, FL and son Gregory Hermanson (Julie ) of Clermont, FL, grandson Paul (Ashleigh) Ortenzo and great-granddaughter Remington, grandson Mark (Catalina) Ortenzo and great grandson Elias, granddaughter April Ortenzo and granddaughters Jenna and Hannah Hermanson. A memorial service celebrating the life of Bob will be held on December 22, 2014 @ 12:00 pm at Faith Lutheran Church in Lecanto, Fl. Interment service for both Bob and Lois will be held on the same day @ 2:30 pm at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell FL with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to any veteran or animal/humane charity of your choice.
