MELISSA RITCHIE Obituary
Melissa's family has grown to include two more parents, Rev. Herb Robertson and Cindy Ritchie; two sisters, Kristina and Sarah
Robertson; two brothers, Zachary Robertson (Sherrie) and Alex Moore; and a very special "best friend" Braden William Ritchie
Robertson. Being in a blended family gave Melissa an extra blessing of grandparents. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Connie Ritchie of Orlando, FL and Bill and Martha Fleming of Apopka, FL. Her surviving grandparents are Jim Sutphin of Melbourne, FL; Doug and Vera Robertson of Weaver, AL and Wayne and Gail Bailey of Highland Lake, AL. Melissa will be remembered in a Worship service at Springville First United Methodist Church on May 19, 2011. The Fellowship House recovery program was very significant in Melissa's final months. Her family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Fellowship House at 1625 12th Ave., Birmingham, AL 35205.

Dear Susie, I have such sweet memories of Melissa when she was a baby and a little girl with that beautiful long curly blond hair, she was so precious and sweet, my mom remembers when you brought Melissa to her house and she remembers her blond beautiful curly hair too and how just so sweet she was. Our children were playing together, as they were all very young. I remember telling you that Melissa looked just like you and even though you and Mark adopted her, you brought her home right from the hospital, she did look just like you and I thought that was just the most wonderful and amazing thing that God had put this precious blond haired, blue eyed baby girl with the most perfectly matched and wonderful mom as you are. I am so sorry that she was taken away at such a young age, but God needed her more and he definitely has plans for her, she is at peace now and in a very beautiful place.
