Lawrence DEWAN Obituary
March 22, 1932 - February 12, 2015
Passed away peacefully on February 12, 2015 at the age of 82. After studying at the Pontifical Institute of Medieval Studies in Toronto, he joined the Dominican Order of Preachers in 1973 and was ordained priest in 1976. He was a teacher at the Dominican University College in Ottawa until December, 2014 and an internationally renowned scholar on Thomas Aquinas. He will be sadly missed by his Dominican brothers; his nephews and nieces; by his colleagues and many friends. Visitation will take place at Saint-Jean– Baptiste Church, 96 Empress Avenue, Ottawa, ON, 613-232-7363, on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Vigil and Prayer (English) at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Kelly Funeral Home Somerset Chapel, 613-235-6712
