Ariane’s life is whole.
A beginning: lilacs, hornets, roseate-fragrances.
A middle: choices, decisions, consequences.
A conclusion: choices, decisions, consequences.
Ariane is whole. Ariane:
all your choices, decisions, consequences
inspire us, day to day, moment to moment,
to be what we were meant to be,
feminine as feminine, strong as strong, clear as clear, whatever as whatever,
to find the long moment in the long day,
to find the flash of now in the Big Now,
to find how questions are questions
while they have daily answers,
to notice the lugubrious, the trapezoids,
to insist on what needs to be insisted on,
to fight battles to be fighted
to shout Yes to all Yesses and No to some No’s
to search the laborious routes
…for what? For a way to be complete
in olam, the timeless, the forever, however seen.
Now is the time we mourn,
some – like me, far away-ers – mourning quietly
wishing to be with Sonny, with Lygie, with close ones,
children, step or not, nephews, nieces, siblings, cousins, everyone,
remembering warmth, remembering, remembering,
and knowing: the long line of time, our ancestors, our descendants,
our individual ways joining together
to greet, to share, to wish blessings
in Ariane’s spirit, in Ariane’s good healthy sense
of doing what needs to be done
in times of doing
of hearing what needs to be heard
in times of hearing…
in sadness, and sympathy,
with love,
Lenny

Dearest Sonny,Craig & Lindy Families,
Although we have not seen a great deal of eachother over the last few years every time I go out to play golf I think of your darling Ariane and know that never again or since in my life have I ever had so much fun doing something as poorly as we played golf. We would go out with Jane Shipman and Anne Hodes and play 18 then we would sometimes play another 9 and even another 9 never improving but always saying,Yes but did you see how far the ball went? never mind that it was on I 95 and then of course there was always that damm putting I never improved you did,but never mind the thought of all the fun still keeps me smiling and playing.
Over the years we saw less of eachother but every time we did meet it was as if we had spoken only yesterday, friends like that are hard to find. Reste en paix mon amie,tu le merite, a bientot.

Dear Sonny and Danielle, There just aren't any words, are there? I had only that lovely moment in Hawaii to know that beautiful lady, but I knew that Ariane was just that, inside and out. I particularly appreciated her capacity to listen and to be interested in what one had to say. I hug you both from a very long distance, but my heart is right beside you both. Love, Sharmion
