Charles Robert Talbot 2nd, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away on January, 4, 2013. He was born December 24, 1921 in Lowell, MA, son of the late Cumner Talbot and the late Eleanor (Hunt) Talbot. He married the late Eleanor Morse in 1943. They had four children: Carolyn Hamilton of Boca Raton, FL and Cabot, VT, Gwendolyn of Manassas, VA, David of North Woodstock, NH and Cabot, VT, and Elaine Hasty of Overland Park, KS; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He had three sisters: Louise Pike of Exeter, NH, Katherine Christison of Delray Beach, FL and the late Patricia Wallace.He graduated from Lowell High School class of 1939 and Bentley College. He worked as an accountant for General Electric in Everett, MA until enlisting in the Army Air Corps in World War II where he was assigned to the Panama Canal. Following the war he returned to Lowell to run the Talbot Clothing Company with his family. After closing the store in 1975 he served as director of Lowell General Hospital outreach clinics. He was a real estate broker for Merrill Real Estate and clothing merchant for McQuade?s. In 1981 he moved to Florida where he took a position with Peter Glenn Ski and Sport Shops.Charlie, as he was known by friends, was active in the Lowell community. He was a charter member of Lowell Exchange Club, a 33rd degree Mason in the William North Lodge, served as chair of the Retail/Trade Division of Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, Trustee of Lowell General Hospital, Greater Lowell Pastoral Counseling Center and St. Paul?s Methodist Church.Charlie enjoyed his Bridge and Cribbage games and was an avid gardener. He particularly enjoyed the White Mountains where his family vacationed each year. In recent years he spent much of the summers between David?s and Carolyn?s homes on Joe?s Pond in Vermont and May in Kansas with Elaine and September in Virginia with Gwen. A memorial service will be held at the chapel at St. Andrews Estates South, 6045 Verde Trail South, Boca Raton, at 4PM on Wednesday, January 9th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ?The ACTS Samaritan Fund,? 6152 North Verde Trail, Boca Raton, FL 33433-2430.

Would never have learned to ice skate if "Mr. Talbot" had not flooded his vegetable garden for us kids each winter! "Charlie" and "Eleanor" were so welcoming to the Sheehys and Scanlans when we moved in to 117 Clark Road... Wonderful people, with four wonderful kids...

I remember Charlie as boy growing up at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, wonderful family, good to everyone, I use to go into Talbots to buy my clothes during the 70's. I can't believe it closed down the year I graduated from Lowell High 75' My sympathy to all his family & loved ones, Mr. Talbot lived a long life. You have huge family awaiting you in heaven Charlie!
