Stanford Reynolds Obituary

STANFORD REYNOLDS It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our amazing father, Stanford Reynolds. Dad passed away October 22, 2016 with his adoring family by his side. Stan was born to the late Pearl and Thomas Reynolds November 5, 1920 in Antler, North Dakota. At the age of 17, Stan entered the United States Navy. It was then and there that Stan knew he wanted a life on the sea. He was stationed on the USS Oglala during the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941 and was a proud member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association for over 50 years. Stan was injured during WWII and medically discharged, but he didn't let his injuries stop him from having a career at sea. He was a tugboat captain for close to forty years. Stan was predeceased in death by his parents, his sister Patricia Garvik, and soul mate Thelma Kummerow. He is survived by daughters Jo Ann Roos (Jim), Patricia Kipp (Carl), Kelli Czarnowski (Mike), Kristi Peckham (Rob), nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank his wonderful neighbors, the "coffee" group, and dedicated care givers that brought him such joy. Aloha Stan! A service will be held Wednesday, November 16th at the Riverside National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
