Leonard Bahler Obituary

LEONARD (LEN) BAHLER 6/24/1929 ~ 9/28/2010 Len died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Louisville, Ohio, served in the Army during the Korean War and, he retired in 1989 from the telephone company. He lived in Riverside 54 years. Len is survived by his wife of 30 years, Noma Cowan Bahler, six children, Brenda Gibson (Jim), Lake Arrowhead, Cathy Chabolla, (Richard) & Dan Bahler (Jennifer) Riverside, Susan Smith (Erik), Angelas Oaks, Christine Douglas, Hemet, & Neva Ringdahl (Jim), Colorado Springs, CO and two step-children, Robert Minning (Keri), Grand Junctin, CO and Robyn Esposito, Riverside. Together Len and Noma have 29 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Len was one of fifteen children. He is survived by his sisters Hazel, Bertha and Martha, and his brother, Paul (Virginia), of Riverside as well as George, Howard, Bill and Chuck, Ohio. Len was a loving husband, devoted father and awesome grandpa. He was also an active member of The Grove Community Church. In addition, he and his wife served for the past ten years with SOWERS (Servants On Wheels Ever Ready). He lived a selfless life and was always ready to help anyone in need. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of an amazing man will be held Sat. Oct. 2, 2010 11:30 AM at The Grove Community Church. In lieu of flowers, Len requested donations to The Grove Community Church-Missions, 19900 Grove Community Dr., Riverside, CA 92508, or ASK Mentoring Outreach, Inc.(Prison Ministry), PO Box 1915, Chino Hills 91709-0064.

Len,
My family and I are so thankful that you were a part of our lives. I especially remember your support when I went on my first missionary trip. You were so excited to hear about it, encourage me and pray for the trip. You always had a special twinkle in your eyes when you were talking. I'll always remember that twinkle.
