Michelle Fuquea Obituary

Michelle Marie Crutcher Fuquea

Michelle Marie Crutcher Fuquea was born May 31, 1966 in Covington, KY to Gary and Lynda Crutcher. She went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2015 after battling melanoma cancer. Michelle is survived by her husband, Charles Fuquea of Calhoun Georgia, her parents, one sister, Casey Murphy (Walt), nieces Alex and Cate Price, and a nephew, Caleb Price, all of Pensacola.

Though Michelle had no children of her own, she and Charles were blessed to have a dear friend, Bonnie Robinson, who resided with them and cared for both of them through ill health as a daughter would do.

Michelle was a 1984 graduate of B.T. Washington High School and Locklin Vocational Center's Nursing Assistant Program. She had various jobs throughout the years, working at Wendy's as a teen and was later employed by WalMart and Comfort Inn. However, her favorite work was with the elderly patients she care for in their homes. She developed a love for healthcare and aging patients while volunteering as a candy striper at Sacred Heart Hospital where, in her late teens, she earned an award for over 1000 hours of service.

While Michelle adapted to life in Pensacola and later in Calhoun, Georgia, she was always a Kentuckian at heart. She like playing games of any variety. Horseback riding and fishing were also favorite activities. Michelle enjoyed family gatherings and staying in touch with friends and family by computer and phone. While living in Calhoun, Michelle attended Trinity Baptist Church and most recently New Town Baptist Church.

The family is especially grateful to Pruitt Health in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA where Michelle was cared for by a loving, attentive staff since June. Deep appreciation also goes to our dear friends Trista and Bonnie who visited Michelle faithfully when we could not be there.

There will be a Memorial Celebration Saturday, August 29 at East Brent Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00 with a service at 3:00 led by Dr. Dale Patterson. If you wish to honor Michelle's memory, contributions can be made to East Brent Baptist Church for the Guatemala Water Wells Mission Project.
