PEGRAM JOHNSON Obituary

JOHNSON

PEGRAM ANNE, 62, of Strafford Village in Wayne, on November 25, 2013 of liver failure at her home, with her family at her side. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Egolf, a son, Peter, a sister, Jeramy Johnson, and her parents, Thomas and Ella Johnson.
Born in Allentown, she grew up in Goshen, NY and Addison, VT where her parents still reside. She received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1981 and was a Research Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She attended Hamilton College as an undergraduate. Dr. Johnson worked for FMC Corporation's BioProducts Division in Rockland, Maine and Philadel-phia for over twelve years. She was a life sciences product manager, handling product management and sales devel-opment for specialty gelling polymer products. She was most recently employed as a senior product manager for Cambrex Bio Science of Walkersville, MD, specializing in commercial and business development for gelling poly-mers used in macromolecular separations, genomics, and diagnostics. While working for FMC in Maine, Dr. Johnson met her husband, Christopher Egolf, an FMC patent lawyer from the Philadelphia office. They were married for 26 years.
She was avidly interested in the arts, enjoyed drawing and painting and had studied modern dance. She also loved outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and kayaking. She had a great fondness for the Maine coast, where the family regularly vacationed during summers. Despite medical complications from a liver transplant she received in 2004, she maintained her positive outlook and enthusiasm for many of these activities as long as possible.
Services will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church, 763 South Valley Forge Rd, Wayne, PA at 10 A.M. on Friday, December 6th. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dr. Johnson's memory may be made to the Wayne Art Center http://www.wayneart.org/involved/support.php or to the Penn Medicine Liver Transplant Fund http://www.pennmedicine.org/transplant/about-us/giving/.

My dearest Peg, when she visited with her family when my parents were visiting from India.

I know Peg, that's what I used to call her, since 2005 and we connected immediately as we both were going through health problems. She was such a sweet, soft spoken and wonderful friend. We shared our problems and understood what we went through and what we were going through very well. I never heard anything negative from her even though she was suffering. She loved to keep herself as busy as possible. When my father passed away in India I couldn't go so I had kind of memorial service and she came for that too. She met my parents in 2005 and she used to take me and my mom out and we all used to have so much fun, had tea, chat etc. Whenever we met anywhere we used to connect and share so many things and promise to meet or call each other. Due to my health problems I wasn't in touch with her and I feel so bad for that, I just wish I called and talked to her or visited her at least one time and had heart to heart talk. I just want to see her one time and ask forgiveness for not being a responsible friend. I know I was late and she left this world but I hope she knew that I was thinking about her and wanted to get in touch with her. It was a big shock for me and I am going to miss my dear Peg so much. My dear Peg you will always with me in my heart and I'll always remember the things we shared with each other, especially your positiveness and good sense of humor. I'll never forget our meetings. Love you Peg, may your soul rest in peace.
