EDWARD J. POWERS, 91, of Hershey's Mill, West Chester PA, on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Husband of the late Florence E. Frey Powers and the late Alice Hahn Powers. He is survived by his companion, Jeanne Overton; his children, Anne Bosch, Barbara Sue Godwin, Patricia Eder, James E. G. Powers, Jeanne Walcher, Joan Ryan, Dorothy Powers Ray, Edward J. Powers, Jr.; 19 grandchildren, 11 great grand-children, one great great grand-daughter, and his sister, Glorianne Sibold Eiss. In keeping with his wishes, his body was donated to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service 1 P.M., Saturday, June 6, 2009, St. Francis-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 689 Sugartown Road, Malvern PA. Visitation 12 Noon to 1 P.M., Saturday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Doctors without Borders, 333 7th Ave., 2nd Floor, New York NY 10001 and/or Mercersburg Academy, 300 E. Seminary St., Mercersburg PA 17236 and/or Upper Saddle River Library 245 Lake St., Upper Saddle River NJ 07458.
