Visitations will be held Sunday eve. 6-9 P.M. and Mon. 9-10 A.M. at EMIL J. CIAVARELLI FAMILY FUNERAL HOMES, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA. Int. will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's name may be made to Joan and Doug MacMaster Scholarship Fund, St. Francis Xavier University, PO Box 5000, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada B2G2W5. Joan, so many wonderful memories of you. How I loved Temperance Street and days spent with the family. As your Uncle Vince used to say, "that Joanie is one great gal." Safe journey cousin.

Growing up in Chatham Township, NJ back in the mid 70's everyone knew a MacMaster. Great looking kids that excelled in the classroom and on the soccer field and hockey rink. I was a classmate of Doug and had the privilege to play soccer with both Doug and Don. This was a family of humility, grace, talent and expectations. Talent comes naturally, but humility and grace do not... these traits are learned and observed... and I know from my encounters with Joan (Mrs. MacMaster to us back in grade school) that this family was blessed with the guidance of this beautiful woman. As I now look at life from the eyes of a grown man, the is nothing more honorable than having the ability to raise good children. Job well done Joan MacMaster!!! My prayers are with you on your eternal journey... and my heart goes out to all of the MacMaster family. Especially to Doug and Don... Love you guys, it has be decades but I have such vivid memories of our youth together. My sympathies and thoughts are with at this time...

Lovely Joan was a cousin of mine. She was someone we all looked up to as an example of grace and elegance. It was nice just knowing that "Joanie" was in the world -- even if distance kept us from spending very much time with her. My husband Joe Higgins and I send her family our deepest sympathy. My sister Adele is away and will not get a message about this guest book in time, but I know she and her husband would send their deepest sympathies as well.
