Dobie,
It was my honor to be able to be there to help when you and George moved from the beach to Harbors Edge. I will always miss his sharp witt & his cutting sense of humor. My heart holds a special place for both of you.

Mom just told me a story of when George started at Seaboard Citizen National Bank. He and Billy Thomas worked as tellers. My mother, Nell Ruffin Mellen, worked across the lobby and Dobie came on as the safe deposit girl. Apparently Billy regularly lobbed spit balls across the lobby. Mom jovially said, "they all had great fun". When the girls made plans to go to Europe, apparently George did not think that was such a good idea and asked Dobie to marry him. What a delightful love story.

George was a very nice man and the we (the Mellens) are holding the Hogans in our prayers.

Dobie,
