Helen Vasta Obituary

Helen E. Vasta
Virginia Beach - Helen E. Vasta, 73, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2012. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and Mother-In-Law. She is survived by her husband and companion of 51 years, Alfio Joseph Vasta, three sons, A.J. Vasta, Robert P. Vasta, and Brenton D. Vasta, daughers in law, Kinberly A. Vasta, and Susanne R. Vasta, grandaughter Ashley Vasta, and grandsons David Vasta and Bryan Vasta. The family is grateful for the loving care of the family doctor, Vera Goode, her neighbor, Gerry Richter, and the Daybreak Singers, for their prayers, cheers, and support. On her last days, she was a resident of the Bayside Health and Rehabilitation Center, a devoted, professional, and skilled facility. No funeral services will be held. Friends can honor her memory by continuing to be charitable to the less fortunate, and to love and respect each other. A word of caution to family caregivers, that cancer treatments like chemo, radiation, medicines, transfusions, and various scans can cause a patient to become crippled from head to toe. If the oncologist cannot cure the cancer, additional chemo may not improve the remaining quality of life. Helen's last chemo treatment was July 3, 17 days later, she passed away.
