Julia Fulk Obituary

Julia L. Fulk VIRGINIA BEACH - Julia Ann Lohr Fulk, 73, died Jan. 19, 2009, in Norfolk. She was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Rockingham County and was a daughter of Virginia Harrison Lohr of Harrisonburg and the late Stanley Milton Lohr. She was an office manager for BB Fulk Optical Co. She was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church in Broadway. On Oct. 10, 1953, she married Bevelyn Brook Fulk who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2002. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two sons, Rick Fulk and wife Michelle of Shackleford, Va., Scotty Fulk and wife Linda of Chesapeake; a daughter, Connie McCarthy and husband Michael; brothers, Jim Lohr, Clark Lohr and Thomas Lohr; sisters, Kathryn Evans and Dorothy Sharpe; grandchildren, Kelly McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy, Andrea Allen, Laurel Allen Tootle and husband Jason and Julia Fulk; great- grandson, Jake Tootle; and special friends at Oakdale Heights, Rose, Elma and Wanda. The Rev. David Burrough will conduct a funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday in Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway. Burial will be in Mount Grove Cemetery in Fulks Run. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grandle Funeral Home. A special memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date at Oakdale Heights, Virginia Beach, 5417 Wesleyan Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23455, (757) 490-6672.
