Laura Bailey Obituary

Laura E. Bailey PORTSMOUTH - Laura Evelyn Bailey, 84, went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2010, joining her husband, Howard and daughter, Susan. She is survived by her son, Bill and his wife Rhonda, their two daughters, Bari Marland and her husband Wade and their three daughters, Bailey, Alexandra and Cydney of Manteo, N.C., and Stacie Wyatt of Richmond. Her daughter, Susan, has two surviving children, Bleu and Lanaea Bailey of New York. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Myrtle Virginia Thompson and her husband, Richard and her brother, Bennie L. Williams and his wife Carol, both of Suffolk. She also has numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. A funeral will be held Thursday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, with a visitation to follow until 8 p.m. A brief graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Olive Branch Cemetery. She was so blessed to have family members and friends that dearly loved and supported her. We'll miss her and look forward to seeing her again. Bill, I was so sad to hear of your Mom's passing. I wish so much I had carried through with our last conversation to put together a Highland Biltmore reunion. Lesson learned here....never put off things that are important. May the Lord comfort each of you with all the precious memories we have of a wonderful lifetime.
