Mary Chance Obituary

Mary Jane Chance VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary Jane Chance passed away April 4, 2010. She was very loved and always willing to offer a helping hand or words of encouragement. She loved the beach area and will be missed by all. Many knew her from the carpet business as the "Carpet Lady of Virginia Beach." She was born and raised in Cincinnati and moved with her family to the beach in 1976. She and her husband Tom were married in 1961. Her greatest accomplishment and source of pride was her many friends and her family. She is survived by her husband, Tom; her sons, Mark and his wife Lorraine, Matthew and his wife Rhonda and Jeff and his wife Natasha; her grandchildren, Mark, Kristin, Cole and Mattie; her sister, Charlotte and husband Neil; her niece, Megan; and her brother-in-law, Tim Chance and Linda. Mary Jane had some recent health struggles and even through her pain managed to maintain a positive outlook and be a source of strength for her friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please consider offering a donation to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, where the family will receive friends the hour prior. Burial will be private.
