Virginia Giles Obituary

Virginia Williams Giles FRANKLIN - Mrs. Virginia Williams Giles, 77, of Harrison St., passed April 9, 2010 in her home. The Isle of Wight County native was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. She was a member of the Missionary Circle and the Pastor's Aide Committee. Mrs. Giles was preceded in death by her parents, James Batchelor and Mary Newby; her daughter, Mary Johnson; and sister, Lois Vincent. She is survived by her husband, George Giles; four daughters, Rosa Ward (Varrance), Geneva Williams (Charles), Charlene Holley (Tony), and Sheila Williams; seven sons, Earl Eley (Jannine), Daniel Eley (Vickie), Ronald Lewter (Donna), Walter Williams (Linda), Ronnie Williams (Charlene), Jeffrey Williams (Charlotte), Keith Williams (Jackie); three sisters, Viola Beale, Thelma Trower, Ernestine Battle; one brother, Bernard Batchelor; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one aunt, Pauline Stokes; nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Hestelle Cutler, R.N., and the staff of Nannie Home Health Care for the professional service and special care given to Mrs. Giles during her illness. A life's celebration will be held Thursday, April 15, at 1 p.m. in Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1071 Carrsville Hwy., Franklin, with the pastor, the Rev. Alfred Brown Sr., delivering the eulogy. On the day of service, her remains will be placed in church for viewing by 11:30 a.m. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 South Main St., Franklin.
