Dorothy Faulks Obituary
Portsmouth - Dorothy "Tansy" Faulks, 92, our family's matriarch, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Shirley "Peggy" Gregory.
She was a faithful and lifelong member of Celestial Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Kathy Faulks and Jacqueline Ruff (Thomas); three sons, Herbert Faulks (Irene), Sherman Faulks (Carmela) and Barry Faulks (Dante'); 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a special niece and caregiver, Cynthia D. Faulks; a special cousin, Helena Ligon; other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Noon, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Celestial Baptist Church, 1439 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Portsmouth, Virginia 23707. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, Virginia.
A viewing will be held Friday, November 20, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 pm and the family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.

Christmas In Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees
Around the world below,
With tiny lights like heaven's stars,
Reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away your tears
For I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
That people hold so dear,
But the sounds can't compare
With the Christmas Choir up here.
I have not the words to tell you
Just how much joy their voices bring.
It's beyond description to hear Angles sing.
I know how much you miss me.
I see the pain inside your heart
But I'm not so far away and
We're not really apart.
Be happy for me dear ones;
You know I hold you dear.
Be glad I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.
I send you each a very special gift
From my home above; memory of my undying love.
After all, LOVE is a gift more precious
Than pure gold. It was most important' in the stories
Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other near, just as
Our Heavenly Father said to do. I can't count the
Blessings of love He has for each of you. So wipe
Way those tears, Have A Joyful Merry Christmas.
