PEORIA - Sandra Jean "Sandy" Sopher, age 75, of Peoria passed away at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, in Morton, Ill.
She was born to Thomas and Verna (Shuppy) Duty on July 28, 1940, in Peoria, Ill. She married Clifford David Sopher on July 7, 1958. Together, they raised five children, Wendy Sue (Terry) Melaga, Terry David (Mary) Sopher, Eric Duane (Nancy) Sopher, Christopher Thomas (Lynne) Sopher and Jennifer Susan (Tracy) Stout.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Tom and Verna; and her husband, Cliff.
She leaves five grieving children and their spouses; six grandchildren, Marissa Melaga, Doug Hilst, Eric (Gretchen) Sopher, Heather Sopher, Amanda Sopher and Cassandra Stout; and four great-grandchildren, Myleigh Herd, Carter Brinker, Peyton Parrott and Audrey Adams.
Sandra enjoyed being a mother and grandmother and a homemaker and volunteered for many years at Lakeview Museum.
Services will be held on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria, with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Illinois Chapter.

Wendy, Terry, Rick, Chris and Jen. I am truly sorry for your loss. I've known all of you for so many years and we never imagine this moment happening. Just remember the good times and I know there were many, I was there for a few and I'll be holding those close to my heart.
